At Bxtreme cycles, we believe in our community and giving back, therefore we will periodically have initiatives where we do something for the good of our community and its environment, along with all our friends and family within this community.

This page will keep you updated with what we have done and what we plan to do as well.

Andries, the man with the talent is a security guard in Midrand. He is your 'not so average' citizen of our loving community, his story is the following:

It was the usual morning weekend ride, the Irene route where the crew ride from Bedfordview side to Pomona and back, with this in mind this crew of avid cyclists have been riding together for over 15 years, therefore they are a strong bunch of cyclists.

On the morning of Late January, as they left for their ride, a random cyclist had joined them, no gear, an old run-down bicycle but a lot of heart on his side. Little did they know the potential of 'Andries the machine'.

The cycle was going on and everyone had noticed Andries join them, riding at the back of the Peleton, he kept his way, from the trip of Bedfordview to Pomona and all the way back, this young man had kept up with the staggering pace of the cyclists, impressed by his skills even with nowhere near the equipment of the professionals - Sean Wheeler got his details and put together the idea of helping this young man realize his potential.

Sean, as well as the rest of the crew, all decided to pitch in and help put together something for Andries after they all were amazed by his pure strength on the Pomona ride. Therefore they got their gears set and decided to get an allotment of gear for Andries.

On January the 26th the crew invited Andries over for the 'handover' of his surprise. He promptly arrived and with the crew awaiting his entrance, Sean took the helm and handed over everything to Andries - the Bicycle, shirts, pants, shoes, helmet - you name it and he got it. The excitement on his face explained it all (See images below) and when taking him out to test out all the gear, he was a natural-born cyclist.

We wish you all the best and safest travels on your new ride, we know you will enjoy it and do great things with it. The next stop is the professional team racing for you on your Journey.
